Job Type: Full Time, On-site. Exempt.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Overtime and weekend work as needed.
Farwest’s Accounting Department, seeks a knowledgeable and detail oriented individual to join their team as Accountant II. In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely reporting of fixed assets, taxes (sale, use, property, etc), prepaid assets, and licensing. You will also be responsible for assisting in month-end financial statement close, audits and other projects as needed.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Sales and Use tax reporting, external audits, internal tax review and support for Credit and Sales.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory organizations.
- Fixed asset and property tax reporting and filing.
- Month end reporting, journal entries, annual audit, and account reconciliations.
- State and local business licensing, corporate annual reporting, and unclaimed property reporting.
- Previous Accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree, Accounting degree preferred.
- CPA credentials preferred.
- Thorough understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Familiar with basic office equipment (computer, copy machine, phones, etc).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Experience with Oracle and Sage software.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work within a team of diverse individuals.
